The MakerBot® Safety Cutoff Kit is intended to prevent your extruder from overheating. It's a fail-safe kit which will turn off the heater circuit if it gets too hot. This is a good thing to have, because the Cartridge heaters can get a lot hotter than our 5 Ohm resistors from the Plastruder MK5 and first edition Stepstruder® MK6.
It's important to be safe with this equipment, and so we are making the Safety Cutoff Kit a requirement for all MakerBot® Operators who are using the new Cartridge heater.
This kit *requires soldering* and is sold unassembled. It's not hard to put together, and is a great kit for beginners to build.

Please note: this does not come with a thermostat. Please add our Safety Thermostat for use on our bots, or supply your own for other applications.
