We are please to announce the completely redesigned MakerBot® MK6 Nozzles widths!
It's another breakthrough in personal manufacturing for owners of MakerBot Thing-O-Matic®, StepStruder® MK6's, CupCake CNC's and Plastruder MK5's. We have redesigned the nozzle with new inner geometry and without the tube tip, making for smoother extrusion, less oozing, and higher quality builds. The custom machined MakerBot MK6 nozzles now come in a range of sizes, including .4mm, .6mm, .8mm, and 1mm! (Whoa!)
After the machining process, each nozzle is individually coated in high-grade Teflon, which prevents hot, extruded plastic from sticking to the side of the nozzle. The new nozzle geometry is designed to reduce the buildup of pressure inside the extruder barrel, reducing ooze that can gum up details on your builds. Altogether, it's another great incremental upgrade to your Bot.
The .6mm nozzle is intended for users who want to experiment with bigger nozzles for their builds. It outputs more plastic than our standard nozzles, so you will need to adjust your build settings accordingly.
If you are looking for the classic MakerBot® Nozzle size, we suggest the MakerBot® MK6 .4mm Teflon Coated Nozzle.
